FIRST FRIENDS OF SUNCOOK RIVER CAN DRIVE A SUCCESS!
Pictured
here is the Bilodeau family with Friends of the Suncook River member, Pam
Miller. FOSR hosted a Can Drive Clean Up during the week of May 4th.
Enough cans were collected between the Barnstead collection location and the
Epsom Can Trailer location to nearly fill the Can Trailer! The FOSR Recycle
for a Better Environment Can Trailer is permanently located at Webster Park
on Rt. 28 in Epsom.
Sarah Bilodeau of Barnstead won a Friends of the Suncook River t-shirt and a ½ gallon of locally made maple syrup for her efforts. September 2008 Kayak Trip on the Suncook
A Flotilla of Friends enjoyed a morning of kayaking on the Suncook River. About fifteen colorful kayaks graced the stretch of river from Center Barnstead to the Barnstead Parade Dam on Saturday, September 20th. Paddlers ranged in ages from six to sixty and a good time was had by all. Perhaps one of the more delightful moments of the trip came when a curious osprey followed the kayaks for quite a while, circling and watching, We were also visited by blue herons and watched many a fish jump on the surface.
